Computer no longer boots

Find Restore ISO

If you want to perform a Terra Cloud Backup BMR restore, you need the restore ISO from which a computer to be restored must be booted. Here we have to distinguish between two different scenarios:

On-prem Computer or on-prem VM
For a computer or VM that is operated on-prem, the restore ISO must be created by you.
To do this, please use the following instructions:
Generate backup-restore ISO

VM with us in the Terra Cloud
If it is a VM in our Terra Cloud, you can use the ISO we have already created in the Technical Center.
Please take a look at the following instructions:
Technical Center-Virtuelle Computer

Please make sure that you always see the most current view in the Technical Center.
To do this, please refresh the view by using the arrow symbol in the top right corner.
The boot order must also be correct; you will also find a suitable button for this in the Technical Center.

BMR restore of a Linux computer

Please note that it is not supported to perform a BMR restore within our Terra Cloud.
Furthermore, the restore ISO that you created when installing the Linux agent and setting up the backup is required for the on-prem BMR restore.
No universal restore ISO can be used here.

Lost encryption password

We cannot recover the encryption password, so you should write it down in Pleasant or Keypass, for example.
If you have lost the encryption password, you will need to set up the backup again, at this point we can only delete the old backup.
